...to a new server and what I hope is one of the better websites on the net dedicated towards Saab cars.  It isn't quite complete yet (will it ever be?), but it's moving in a mostly forward direction.  I've done my best to weed out the stuff that is silly or irrelevant and narrow the content down to what I think is a unique and useful mix of information about my favorite marque.

Most of the content on this site is focused on the "classic" Saab 900 Turbo - those cars made between 1979 and 1993.  This is the model which I favor, and most definitely where most of my knowledge and experience is.  Still, there is a fair amount of information pertaining to some of Saab's other models, including the 9000 and, as time goes on, I will no doubt be adding information on some older Saabs as well (especially the Sonett, as I've recently acquired one).

I hope you'll take the time to look around and everything that I've compiled here, and I hope you find some of it useful.  If you spot any glaring errors or bit of utter nonsense, or are left with questions or contributions of your own, please don't hesitate to email me and let me know... This place is constantly evolving and needs your input!

Thanks much!

News:

23 May 2002

Good God I'm a lazy bastard!  Upon prompting from numerous people I've done some updates at long last.  A fair amount more is forthcoming, as soon as I can type out my notes.  After running into a roadblock getting the 99T back together, I've got some Saab Time to kill waiting for parts to arrive.  My pain is your gain!  :)  Thanks for reading!

11 January 2002

Finally!  After the better part of six months I've finally won my little war with Network Solutions and regained control over my domain.  Everything seems to be working properly save the Movies area, and I'll get to that shortly.  Currently, I am working on some updates in the FAQ section, and putting together the documentation on the engine swap for the 5-door - it's mechanically and electrically complete, with only some minor cosmetics to deal with.  I am pretty happy about that!  Seems like maybe 2002 is gonna be a good year for Saabs!

15 November 2001

We've been down for a while, but sacsaabs.org should be back up and running within the next few days.  I've decided to bite the bullet and move the hosting of this site into my home, so reliability should be up and maybe since I gotta look at it every day I'll be more inclined to fix things quickly.  Not much in the way of new stuff, yet, but I hope to be working on it in the near future. Email is still not up, but should be back by the end of the month.  Check back here for updates.

21 January 2001

That was fast!  Nothing too much has happened in the last four days, but I've made some minor corrections and seriously updated the Speed section, as promised!  Although it's officially "rough draft" at this point, I expected to have that completed by the end of the week, and then I'll work on getting the final put together.  If you have any suggestions or comments about anything I've added (or anything that's been here, for that matter) lemme know!

17 January 2001

Looks like the first update of the year, a little later than I've expected.  The update this time comes in the form of a number of additions and modifications.  I've acquired a new Saab, (which appears in the My Saabs area) a 1978 99 Turbo.  I've also been busy with little upgrades on some other cars, which have been detailed.  The FAQ has been updated with a few more bits of useful information, and I've added some additional Links.  And, I expect I will have some significant updates to the Speed section by the end of the weekend.

It looks like we may be able to start producing the white gauge faces again.  Details are a little sketchy right now, but hopefully we'll have something concrete in the very near future.  Look for updates here as well as on TSN's C900 BBS when things are ready.  I have kept all the  email addresses from individuals inquiring about them, and will sent out a mass email when the time comes.  Keep your fingers crossed, but don't hold your breath.  :)

6 October 2000

Good God it's been forever since I updated anything... As always, work keeps me busy.  Tonight's update includes some changes to My Saabs, some updates the to FAQ section, and some miscellaneous housekeeping.  Nothing major, but as winter approaches I'll surely get back to some more regular updates.

On another note, if you've emailed me in the last month or so and I've not responded, it's because my email server has been *extremely* unstable.  I think I've finally corrected everything tonight, so if I don't get back to you, please email again!

2 March 2000

I've obtained photographs of something I believe to be unique - the only one in existence!  What could it be?  A dead Y2K Saab 9-3 Viggen.  So sad!  See them here!  The images are fairly large, so it'll take some time to load on a slow connection.  And, be warned - these images are not for the faint of heart!

27 February 2000

Still pluggin' away at this!  Things are taking a little longer than I expected, but hey, what else is new?  Work is taking a lot of time (see our website) from my personal activities, but it's better than not being employed!  I've got pictures of my second '88 900T and my '86 900S online finally for ya'll to check out.  I'm particularly please with how nice the S is turning out.  I've also invested much time and money getting my '87 SPG back together - new tranny, new timing chain, and just about every system in the car looked at & refreshed.  Just need to get some new springs & shocks, and find center caps for the Aero wheels (yeah, I converted it to '88-style brakes & suspension!).

I'm also having to put an Official Temporary Hold on any parts selling... I've just been too busy to give any attention that direction right now.  Hopefully, once summer rolls around the Job will be taking up less time and I can put more effort in here.  Sorry!

8 January 2000

Seeing that the world hasn't ended, I have continued to get More Stuff online.  I have added some little bits to the pages on my Saabs, and started getting the FAQ online.  More items and more detail will be coming online in the next few weeks.  I've also started working on the Speed section quite a bit more, but won't be posting that until it's completed.  I've added a couple Links.  Keep coming back... I think I'm on a roll!

9 December 1999

I haven't done a ton of work on the website this week, as I've been spending a fair amount of time working on the cars... I've ordered & am installing a set of Autometer Phantom-series gauges for Skugga, a complete stereo system for the '88 9000T, and a very unusual Saab Sport & Rally intercooler setup for the 5-door.  I've also been keeping tabs on the '86 900S, and it should be done late next week, meaning I will have it over the Christmas holiday which will be fantastic.  I am also torn in the decision on my '87 SPG, which is in need of a tranny and I am not so sure I want to spend the money to deal with it... Right now it languishes in the street until I can make a decision.  On the subject of the website, I have started work on the content for the FAQ section and continued work on the Speed section.  Both should be at least posted by Christmas.

2 December 1999

Yowsers!  I seem to be moving right along here... must be the drugs (that was a joke!).  Anyway, some of the FAQ is online again, and the Movies section is 95% completed.  I got all the Links online, but should have more coming shortly once I get my own bookmarks back into order.  I will be posting a few more pictures for the galley over the next few days, and depending on how much free webspace I end up with I will add high-res pics of some of them.

30 November 1999

It's getting there!  My website - the one in perpetual near-completion - may finally see a complete incarnation before the end of the year.  It's crazy to think, but I'm working very hard on starting the new millennium with a new, completely finished website.

As it stands now, nearly everything is online.  I'll be working hard over the coming weekend to "port" all the existing content over to the new format, and then spending the next few weeks completing some more updates.

1 November 1999

I have restarted the news yet again... it was so horribly out of date it wasn't funny.  This time around, I will try and keep it at least somewhat accurate.  I figured with the whole new redesign and some definite new interest from me I should have a much better chance of doing it right this time... Forgive me!  :)
